Gastric Banding
Cost
The total cost is $16,000 which includes the band, hospital fees, anesthesia fee and surgical fees. There is no charge for routine follow-up visits.
Situations where there may be additional costs:
- Overnight Stay at Credit Valley Hospital
Patients are normally discharged 2-3 hours after the surgery. However for those who have severe apnea and other unusual medical conditions an overnight stay at the hospital may be required. -
Previous Abdominal Surgery
Patients who have had previous upper abdominal surgeries and bariatric surgery such as gastric bypass or vertical banded gastroplasty may still be a candidate for gastric banding surgery. However additional charges may apply due to the increased complexity of surgery.
