Gastric Banding Procedure is done at Credit Valley Hospital where the state of the art minimal invasive suite is available. Patients enjoy the safety and the expertise of the hospital anesthesia and nursing staff.
This procedure is done laparoscopically as an outpatient procedure, which takes about 1.5 hours. Patients typically go home 1-1.5 hours after the procedure.
Results vary but the average weight loss is 60% of the excessive body weight over 2 years. Initial follow up visits are monthly and then every 2-3 months at Dr. Tin’s office. He personally does all the fills to adjust the band until the patient has achieved the satisfactory weight loss.
